We are located at 945 82nd Parkway, Ste 2 (1st Floor). We are SC state licensed, Medicare Certified, ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognized and AAAHC Accredited Endoscopy Center.

Highly Qualified Physicians

You are in the best of care with our physicians who are all board certified gastroenterologists. As board-certified gastroenterologists, all of our physicians have extensive training. After medical school they completed internal medicine training, followed by an additional two to three years of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. Our physicians focus on diagnosing and treating diseases of the digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, liver and intestines. Because of the number of patients done in our facility (5,000) our doctors have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating digestive illnesses. Each of our physicians performs over 1,000 procedures each year.

Center of Excellence

In 2009 Strand Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Inc., The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), a leading gastrointestinal medical society, recognized our facility as part of its program specifically dedicated to promoting quality in endoscopy. Strand Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Inc is one of 215 endoscopy units granted recognition since 2009. The ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program honors endoscopy units that follow the ASGE guidelines on privileging, quality assurance, endoscopy reprocessing and CDC infection control guidelines and have completed specialized training on principal in quality and safety in endoscopy. ASGE is the profession’s leader in setting standards of excellence in endoscopy through its safety guidelines and the training of its members so that patients receive the best and safest care possible. To successfully complete the program and receive a Certificate of recognition, a center must first show proof of successful and current accreditation by a recognized accrediting body AAAHC.  The AAAHC accreditation is a symbol that an organization is committed to providing high-quality care and that is has demonstrated that commitment by measuring up to the nationally-recognized standards of AAAHC high standards.

Gary A. Vukov, MD
Gary A. Vukov, MD

Dr. Vukov received his B.A. from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina and his M.D from Bowman Gary School of Medicine, Winston Salem, North Carolina. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Worcester Memorial Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts.

His fellowship in Gastroenterology was obtained at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.

Dr. Vukov is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Vukov practices General Gastroenterology.

Timothy J. Cornnell, MD, AGAF

Gastroenterology and Hepatology

Dr Cornnell received his B.S. from Florida Atlantic University and his M.D. from the University Of Miami School Of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and his Hepatology Fellowship at the same hospital in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Cornnell completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.

He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. Dr. Cornnell practices General Gastroenterology and has a special interest in Liver Disease.

Andrew N. Pearson, MD

Gastroenterology and Hepatology

Dr. Pearson received his B.S. from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina and his M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.

He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina and a Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia.

Dr. Pearson is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Pearson practices General Gastroenterology and has specialty training in Pancreaticobiliary Disease. He performs Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) to help diagnosis and treat diseases of the bile ducts,  pancreas and liver.
